Quality and Environment
Below you will find the most important information on environmental issues, certifications, air freight, as well as the Construction Products Regulation and the WEEE Directive.
Certification of the Quality Management system
In February 1995, the Quality Management system at Friedrich Lütze GmbH was certified for the first time by DQS, in accordance with DIN EN 9001.
This certification, which we have maintained continuously since then, exemplifies our commitment to follow the path of continuous improvement, in order to achieve the highest possible level of customer satisfaction. Numerous assessments giving us "A-supplier" status confirm the correctness of this quality-conscious attitude.
International Railway Industry Standard (IRIS)
As one of the leading suppliers for electronic components for rail vehicles, Friedrich Lütze GmbH is aware of the high standards demanded by the customer. In 2007, LÜTZE TRANSPORTATION was amongst the first companies in the world to obtain an IRIS certificate for its quality management system. Since then, the quality management system has been continuously improved in line with the IRIS standard, and fulfills the requirements of the ISO 22163.
Certification of the Environment Management System
In May 2004, the Environment Management System at Friedrich Lütze GmbH was also certified by DQS, in accodance with DIN EN ISO 14001. With this step, the company is following the principle that economy and ecology go hand in hand with respect to environmentally-compatible and sustainable company management.
Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE)
WEEE-Reg.-Nr.: DE 84336503
Information obligation according to §18 para. 2 of the German Electrical and Electronic Equipment Act
The Waste of Electrical and Electronic Equipment Directive 2012/19/EU was issued in 2012. This European directive deals, amongst other things, with the labeling and take-back of electrical and electronic equipment by the manufacturer. It is intended to ensure that the equipment is properly disposed of or recycled. Since LÜTZE products are also covered by this directive, all companies within the LÜTZE INTERNATIONAL Group that fall under this legislation are registered locally and provide their customers with a disposal solution.
The Electrical and Electronic Equipment Act (ElektroG) ensures the implementation of the European directive in Germany. As a result of the revisions to the ElektroG on August 10 2021, LÜTZE is now offering its customers in Germany, the chance to have their products collected for disposal at the end of their lifecycle. If you need to dispose of old equipment in compliance with Section 19 of the ElektroG, please contact your designated contact person beforehand. It is the customer's responsibility to delete any personal data. The old equipment should not be disposed of with unsorted municipal waste, as signified by the crossed-out trash bin symbol. In addition, every customer is responsible for removing accessible batteries and accumulators, as well as lamps beforehand and disposing of them separately. Likewise, the product packaging must also be disposed of at designated collection points.

Construction Products Regulation (CPR)
The current EU Construction Products Regulation No. 305/2011 ensures that only approved products are used in buildings. This also applies to certain cables. The regulation aims to minimize the risks to people and machinery in the event of a fire.
Friedrich Lütze GmbH uses materials and product designs that comply with the applicable regulations. Download CPR Label

Our Raw Materials and Suppliers
The production and transportation of components have a significant impact on our environment. Therefore, we select our raw materials in accordance with the ROHS guidelines and the REACH regulations, among others. We provide guidelines to our suppliers regarding these standards and demand a more sustainable approach. As a result, they become part of LÜTZE's pollution and sustainability management. We also take a stance on current pollution issues, such as PFAS. Energy efficiency, sustainability, and environmental protection are additional decision criteria when procuring raw materials and services.
